The Beginning
I thought I would start my blog of images with photographs I took in Tibet way back in1995. These are a few showing scenes from a festival at Tsurphu monastery in central Tibet about 70km from Lhasa. The festival was to celebrate Urgyen Trinley, a young boy, who was found to be the reincarnation of the 16th Karmapa making him the 17th Karmapa and leader of the Kagyu order. Like so many important people in Tibet he was forced in to exile. He was taken with his sister and two monks to Northern India on December 28th 2000.
